court with atticus

today jem dill and i went to court to see how its going.
it was hot as a dickens in that courthouse and there was
no where for us to sit. luckily rev.skies came in and asked us did we wont to sit with the Negros on the balcony.
we were so excited so we sat down at the top and we could see everything from up there !
judge taylor had a very interesting habit he had sign that said
no smoking bt he smoked.
so court began and atticus was the first to ask questions along with mr.gilmore. they asked questions to all the wittness and stuff. when it was tom's turn mr.gilmore was in some sort of a way begin angry towards him. and all of a sudden dill started to cry. and jem told me to take him out he would make me. so i took him out and asked him what was wrong. he said that he was sick and i asked why. he said he was sick because of the way mr.gilmore was talking to tom ! and i told him that he was just a nigger and thats how they talk to them and a voice agreed with dill out of no where we thought it was the oak tree for a minute but it was a man.......
